ELKINS, W.Va. – Charleston men's tennis won their fourth straight match Friday afternoon, defeating Davis & Elkins 7-2 to pick up their 11
th win on the season.
Â
The Golden Eagles earned wins at first and third doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading to singles. UC didn't waste any time putting the match away, grabbing victories on five of the six singles courts to easily dismantle the Senators in non-conference action.
Â
The win improves the Charleston record to 11-7 overall heading into Sunday's match with West Virginia Wesleyan College. With a win against the Bobcats, UC will capture the MEC regular season title outright. A loss would earn the Golden Eagles a share of the title with WVWC and West Liberty as each team would complete the MEC schedule with one loss.
