CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Golden Eagles (7-18, 3-7 MEC) dropped both ends of a double header 5-2 and 9-2 to visiting West Liberty University (17-7, 7-3 MEC).

GAME 1: West Liberty 5 – UC 3

The Hilltoppers scored three runs in the top half of the first on two hits, two HBP, one walk and one Golden Eagle error and the Golden Eagles would answer back with two runs of their own on two hits and two WLU errors along with two stolen bases.

UC would scratch out another run but it was not enough as the Toppers would add single runs in the 2nd and 4th.

Tyler Shreve was tagged with the loss in a complete game effort. (7IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4K)

GAME 2: West Liberty 9 - UC 2

Despite multiple hit games from Anthony Brunetti, Tristan Fields and Austin Hathaway, the Golden Eagle offense was not able to push across more than two runs in a game that was 5-2 going into the 9th inning.

Adam Jafine worked into the 7th and was relieved by Luke Yingling, Jack Brunetti and David Webb. The quartet surrendered nine runs on 14 hits while striking out six and walking six.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday at Wheeling Jesuit. First pitch is at 1pm.
