CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- UC men's volleyball took on McKendree from the MIVAÂ Friday evening at the Wehrle Sr. Athletic Arena, losing in straight sets to the Bearcats.
The Golden Eagles struggled all evening with their attack, hitting at just .062 for the night against the Bearcats, who in turn hit at .280.  McKendree was paced by Wyatt Patterson, Maalik Walker and Jared WIlcox who each finished the match with nine kills for the visiting Bearcats, while Michael Polizzi was in on five blocks against Charleston.  UC got five kills each from Donovan Wilmott and Rajahl Moxey while Anthony led Charleston in assists and digs with 19 and four respectively.
UC led midway through the second set after dropping the first 25-19, but a Bearcat 11-1 run sealed UC's fate in the second, going down in the second set 25-16. Â McKendree knabbed the lead early in the third set and cruised to the straight-set win, taking the final set 25-17.
Charleston returns to the court on Tuesday to host Bluefield College at the Wehrle Sr. Athletic Arena.  First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
