CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Fairmont State put an end to UC's six-match win streak and unblemished MEC record Friday night in the Innovation Center, sweeping the Golden Eagles in three sets.

How it Happened
Charleston carried a stretch of six consecutive win and an undefeated MEC record into Friday's night match with Fairmont State only to see both end after falling in straight sets to the visiting Falcons.  UC struggled to come up with an answer for the nation's leader in kills, Mackenzie Harrison, with the left handed outside hitter totaling 18 kills over the three-set victory. 
 
The Golden Eagles hung around early in the match, trailing by just one in the middle of the first set before Harrison got on track with four late kills to close out the opening set for the Falcons.  UC had their best start to a set in the second, forcing a Fairmont State timeout early in the set.  Tied at 9-9, Fairmont used an 8-1 run to take command of the set and cruise to the 2-0 lead over Charleston by taking the set 25-18.
 
Charleston never got it going in the third set, hitting at .000 for the final game to allow Fairmont State to leave the Innovation Center with a 3-0 win over the Golden Eagles.
