GREENSBURG, Pa. – University of Charleston traveled to PSAC Southwest Division leader Seton Hill on Tuesday evening to take on the Griffins in a midseason out of conference match-up, falling to Seton Hill University in a tough five-set match.

How it Happened
UC had a solid start against on the best team in the PSAC, opening the match with a 25-20 opening set victory to take a 1-0 lead in the match with the Griffins. The Golden Eagles took advantage of a negative hitting percentage from the hosts to jump out early on Seton Hill.
Charleston put together another strong set in the second, hitting at .300 with 13 kills on 30 attempts but ultimately fell in a tight set, 25-20, as the Griffins evened the match at on set apiece. Riding the momentum from their second set victory, the Griffins cruised to a third set win to take a 2-1 match lead going to the fourth.
The Golden Eagles rebounded from a poor. -.065 hitting performance in the third with their best attacking set of the match in the fourth, leading to a 25-23 win to tie the match at 2-2 and force the match into a fifth and deciding set. Charleston fell behind early in the fifth but rallied in the middle of the set to trail by just two, 8-6. After a couple of controversial referee decisions, Seton Hill took a commanding 10-6 lead and went on to claim the deciding set 15-8 scoring the match's last five points, the final two by service aces by Jillian Livorse.
Charleston has dropped three straight matches heading back into conference play this weekend at Notre Dame College.
