SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Charleston women's volleyball picked up their seventh MEC victory of the season on Friday evening, defeating Notre Dame College in three sets to improve to 11-12 on the 2017 season.

How it Happened
University of Charleston women's volleyball put an end to a three-match losing streak by dominating Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio, cruising to a straight set victory, 3-0. The Golden Eagle defense stifled the Falcons, forcing the hosts to hit at just .041 for the match while Charleston totaled 9 blocks on the evening.
UC, on the other hand, had a solid night in their attack by hitting at .206 through the three sets, including a .320 performance in the opening game. Charleston won the first two sets by identical 25-16 scorelines before the Falcons put up a fight in the third and final set. The Golden Eagles looked to be on the verge of another easy game, leading 17-10 late in the match only to see the large lead erased on six straight points by Notre Dame to cut the UC lead to one, 17-16. Tied at 23-23, Charleston got a kill from Carly Granger and then a block by Granger and Jour'Ney Powell closed the set and match out for UC.
