GLENVILLE, W.Va. – University of Charleston traveled to Glenville State Thursday evening to take on the Pioneers, claiming their fourth consecutive straight set victory over MEC opponents to stay unbeaten in conference play.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles entered the match riding a four-match win streak while the Pioneers were still looking for the 2017 season. Glenville was overmatched from the first whistle as Charleston came out firing on all cylinders, hitting at .419 on 16 kills cruising to a first set victory.
Things didn't drop off much over the final two sets for the Golden Eagles with middle Janeese VerVelde leading the charge. The sophomore from Wisconsin finished the match with 10 kills on 17 attempts (.471) and four blocks to keep UC's win streak intact. Setting up many of VerVelde's kills was junior Chloe Massaro who led all players with 22 assists.
Charleston has yet to drop a set in their first four Mountain East Conference matches of the 2017 season and now have ran their overall record to 8-8 entering Saturday's match with West Virginia Wesleyan College.
