UC Punishes Glenville on Senior Day

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 sweep of Glenville State College on Saturday afternoon at the Wehrle Sr. Innovation Center, improving their record to 13-13 on the season.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles dominated the Pioneers in straight sets, hitting at a .365 percentage for the match and committing just hitting errors on the afternoon.  UC went on to out-kill the Pioneers 37-19 and more than doubled Glenville in assists, 35 to 16.  Charleston also proved to be a force on the defense, coming up with nine total blocks to Glenville's one total block.  Freshman Catherine Morris led the charge for UC at the net with five blocks in limited action.
 
A couple of Golden Eagles hit some career benchmarks as Chloe Massaro went over 1,000 assists and sophomore Kelsey Matusic went over 1,000 digs in just her second season at Charleston.
 
The Golden Eagles also celebrated the career of lone senior Claire Lambert before the match started. Lambert, a North Olmsted, Ohio native, has over 1,800 career assists, 900 digs and 120 aces in her four-year career as a Golden Eagle.
