Charleston men's volleyball four-match win streak came to close Friday evening, falling in straight sets to Sacred Heart University as they returned to EIVA conference play.

Game Leaders
-Ryan Santos registered 6 kills in for the Golden Eagles. Charleston struggled in their attack, hitting at .053 for the match.
-Senior Brian Cranston returned to the lineup after a short absence to come up with five kills on 14 attempts.
-Setter Brandon Greenway came off the bench to lead Charleston in assists with 15 in his two sets played.
-The Pioneers' Christopher DeLucie had a game-high 16 kills, hitting at .414 in the three-set victory for Sacred Heart.
How it Happened
-UC really struggled in their attack in the first two sets against Sacred Heart, hitting negative in each of the opening two sets.
-SHU's DeLucie dominated Charleston in the first set, registering 5 kills and hitting over 83% as the Pioneers pulled away in the middle of the set for a 25-17 opening set win.
-The Pioneers scored the first seven points of the second set to easily run away with a 25-13 2
nd set victory. SHU's Taylor Bloomquist had 4 total blocks in the second set alone before finishing with 7 for the match.
-Charleston regrouped in the third set despite dropping it 24-26 to hit at .281 in their attack.
-The Golden Eagles trailed 15-19 late in the match before rallying to tie the match at 24-24 after a Cranston kill and a tri-block from Santos, Greenway and Zieba.
-SHU squashed any attempt at a UC comeback by taking the next two points with Bobby Costigan providing a kill and closing out the Eagles with a service ace.Â
