INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Charleston Men's Basketball (14-14, 8-14 MEC) fell in its season finale to the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State (7-21, 4-18 MEC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charleston got on the board first, but once West. Va. State got on the board they were able to maintain a one possession lead until Jonathan Joseph tipped the ball in at 17:17 to tie the game up. A three-pointer by Ernest Jenkins gave State the lead 11-9. The Yellow Jackets maintained the lead through the waning minutes of the first half leading by as many as 16.
- The first half came to and end with UC trailing 41-27.
- Coming out of the break The Yellow Jackets maintained their advantage throughout the second half.
- A three-pointer Ernest Jenkins was the last bucket of the game. Time expired with West Virginia State topping the Golden Eagles 78-62.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Elliot Cole scored 14 to lead the Golden Eagles.
- Justin Coleman and Keir Anderson each tallied 11 points in the loss. Coleman led with 12 rebounds for another season double-double.
YELLOW JACKET INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Sable Cooper led the Yellow Jackets with 16 points and 5 steals.
- Mohammed Camara led West. Va. State with 12 rebounds.
FROM THE SCORER'S TABLE
- The Yellow Jackets shot 44.4 percent while the Golden Eagles only converted 22-of-66.
