CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Tristan Fields's 3-run walk-off HR secured a series win for the Golden Eagles at Triana Field on Sunday afternoon, defeating Kentucky State University 7-6 in 9 innings.

Game 1
-For the third time in three games Charleston fell behind the Thorobreds as Kentucky State plated 3 runs in the 3
rd inning off UC starter Jonathan Carr to take a 3-0 lead.
-KSU added a run in the 5
th to extend their lead to 4-0 before Charleston finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning after a lead-off triple by Tristan Fields to start the frame who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Austin Hathaway.
-Trailing 4-1 in the 7
th Charleston cut the deficit in half when Taylor Itnyre drove in Gianfranco Morello on an infield single to make it a 4-2 game heading to the 8
th.
-Charleston finally got to a tiring Connor Kelley in the 8
th plating 2 runs to tie the ballgame at 4-4 entering the final frame.
-The Thorobreds were able to reclaim a 6-4 lead after plating a pair of runs in the top half of the inning after Charleston reliever Robert Fultineer ran into trouble before being relieved by Brandon Harris.
-Charleston's rally started after a double by Steven Davis to center followed by Jack Brunetti reaching base after getting struck by a Justin Stinson fastball to set the stage for Tristan Fields heroics.
-Fields drove a Stinson fastball over the left field fence to empty the bases and clear the bench as the Golden Eagles celebrated a come from behind 7-6 win over Kentucky State to take the series 2-1.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Tristan Fields went 2-for-4, scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 while providing the game-clinching 3-run HR in the 9
th inning.
-Catcher Nick Wilson went 3-for-4 on the afternoon, scoring a run in the process.
-Robert Fultineer worked a solid 4 1/3 innings in relief for UC, allowing just 2 earned runs.
KENTUCKY STATE INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Brandon Story and Jay Poullard each drove in 2 runs for the Thorobreds in the loss.
-Connor Kelley went 7 2/3 innings in the no decision for KSU, allowing only 2 earned runs.
