CHARLESTON, W.Va. – University of Charleston edged WVU Tech, 2-1, Tuesday evening at Appalachian Power Park to pick up their second straight win.

THE GAME
-Charleston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over the Golden Bears after Gianfranco Morello singled to right field that brought home Brice Arrington who had led off the game with a hit down the right field line.
-The Golden Eagles added a run in the 4
th off a Taylor Itnyre single that scored Tristan Fields who had doubled a play before him.
-Two runs were all that UC starter Kaleb Kinder would need, allowing just 1 run on 5 WVU Tech hits in 5 innings on the hill. Kinder got help from the Charleston bullpen, as Harrison Bell, Andy Hoyer and Levi Nash combined to throw 4 shutout innings and secure a 2-1 win for the Golden Eagles.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Kaleb Kinder picked up his 2
nd win on the year, scattering 5 hits and allowing just 1 earned run.
-Nick Wilson was the only Golden Eagle with multiple hits, going 2-for-4 on the evening.
-Morello and Itnyre each picked up RBI's in the 2-1 win.
-Reliever Harrison Bell worked 2 scoreless innings, striking out 1 and surrendering only Golden Bear hit.
WVU TECH INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Jacob Reimold went 3-for-4 with three singles on the evening.
-Tanner Levine scored the Bears only run, going 2-for-4 at the dish with a double.
-Dalton Grisell was solid in relief for WVU Tech. pitching 3 scoreless innings and striking out 4 UC batters.
