INSTITUTE, W.VA. -- Charleston men's tennis made quick work of West Virginia State University on the Yellow Jacket campus Tuesday afternoon, blanking the host 9-0 before storms hit the area.
After easily winning the three doubles courts with relative ease, the Golden Eagles failed to drop a set in singles play in sweeping all six singles courts for the shutout. Bryson Tye, playing in the No. 5 position, proved to be the most dominant player for the Golden Eagles after dropping just a single game in his straight set 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Charleston hosts a pair of regional opponents in Edinboro and Mercyhurst, both of the PSAC, this Friday and Saturday. The Fighting Scots and Lakers each are ahead of UC in the Atlantic Region rankings, checking in at #5 and #7 respectively, while the Golden Eagles sit in 8th place.
