CHARLESTON, W.Va.—Charleston Women's Lacrosse team (1-6) fell to the Bulldogs of Wingate University (4-1) on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Aryanna Jones scored for the Golden Eagles three minutes into competition, but Wingate tied it up with a goal by Emily Ketron. Wingate scored four unanswered goals before the 20:00 mark in the first half bringing the score to 5-1.
-Megan Sheesley scored Charleston's second goal bring the Golden Eagles within 3 (5-2). The bulldogs went on a 6-0 run in the closing minutes of the half bringing the score to 11-2, but Shawna Kleinfelter tabbed her first goal of the game with just over two minute to go in the half (11-3). Charleston went into the break trailing the Bulldogs 11-3.
-Wingate started the scoring off in the second half with three goals before 25:00. Aryanna Jones answered with her second goal of the game bringing the score to 14-4. Wingate increased their lead to 11 with just over 15 minutes to go. Emma Renda scored for UC on the next possession (15-5). Rachel Kerwin scored at 7:49 cutting the Wingate lead to 9. The Bulldogs scored their final two goals of the game in back-to-back possessions bringing the score to 17-6, Wingate.
-Rachel Kerwin and Shawna Kleinfelter scored their second goals of the game with less than two minutes to play. UC fell to Wingate 17-8.
CHARLESTON LEADERS
-Shawna Kleinfelter, Aryanna Jones, and Rachel Kerwin led the Golden Eagles scoring 2 each.
BULLDOG LEADERS
-Brittany Andres tabbed six goals in the win for Wingate.
UP NEXT
-The Golden Eagles will head to North Canton, OH to face Walsh University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
