CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles dropped a pair of 2-run games to West Liberty University at Triana Field on Saturday evening in Mountain East Conference action.

Game 1
-Charleston's bats were kept silent all game by West Liberty's Sean Pare who tossed a complete game 1-hit shutout of the Golden Eagles as the Toppers earned a 2-0 win in Game 1.
-The Toppers had a 2-run 4
th off UC's Adam Jafine, who also tossed a complete game in the loss for Charleston, striking out 7 West Liberty batters. Alex Rojas and Justice Jackson provided the RBI's that proved to be enough for Pare who was untouchable on the mound.
-UC's lone hit came on a Gianfranco Morello bunt that he beat out on a close play at first base.
Game 2
-West Liberty started the scoring, getting a run in each of the 3
rd and 4
th innings to take a 2-0 lead before Charleston finally got their offense going.
-UC responded with a 3-run 5
th to take their first lead of the evening, getting RBI's from a Morello double, followed by a Lee Carneal single, and then a Nick Wilson RBI double to give the Golden Eagles a 3-2 lead for Charleston starter Jonathan Carr.
-Charleston added a run in the 6
th for a 2-run lead, only to see West Liberty take advantage of one of UC's three errors and plate a pair of runs in the 7
th to tie the game at 4-4.
-The game went into extra innings with West Liberty using a 2-out rally in the 10
th to score two runs on a Vincent Haddox double to right field and sweep the Golden Eagles in the night doubleheader.
