CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Volleyball team (11-15 ,0-12 EIVA) fell 3-1 to Harvard University (9-10, 6-4 EIVA). Down two sets the Golden Eagles rallied to take the third set 25-11 to send the match to four games before falling 25-18 in set four.
 
THE BASICS
SCORE: Harvard 3; Charleston 1

SET 1
-Tied at 2-2 Harvard University took the 3-2 lead, but UC tied it up again on the next point.
-Midway through the set Anthony Rivera brought the score within one (10-9). Harvard maintained the lead through the set, never leading by more than 3 until going on a 10-3 run and took set 1 25-17.
 
SET 2
-Charleston stayed within 2 points of the Crimson until halfway through set 2. The crimson began to pull away after going on a 5-0 run to take the 14-7 lead.
-Harvard continued to build their advantage to hold the 24-12 lead. On the next play Jack Heavey took the ace on the serve giving Harvard the 25-12 victory.
 
SET 3
-After going down 2-0 to start the third set, the Golden Eagles took off on a 5-0 run to lead Harvard 5-2. The Crimson fought to bring the score within 2 points until UC went on a 4-0 run to hold the 11-5 lead.
-With the score set at 11-16, Charleston scored 9 straight points to take the third set 25-11.
 
SET 4
-The scored stayed close for most of the fourth set. Harvard took the 9-8 lead after a kill by Matthew Ctvrtlik, and held on through the rest of the set.
-With the score at 18-15, Harvard would outscore UC 7-3 to end the match with a 25-18 set victory and take the match 3-1.
 
CHARLESTON LEADERS
-Ryan Santos led the Golden Eagles with 9 kills. Donovan Wilmott and Byron Hurd each tallied 7 kills in the the loss.
 
CRIMSON LEADERS
Erik Johnsson led the Crimson with 13 kills while Marko Kostich led with 27 assists and 5 aces.
