The Golden Eagles added another pair of runs in the 3

Carr took a shutout into the 7
th inning, but a pair of walks led to Kyle Johnston RBI single to break up the complete game shutout. Carr still earned his fourth win on the season and improve his record to 4-2 overall.
Game 2
After a pair of scoreless innings to open the 2
nd game of Friday's doubleheader, the Pioneers took their first lead of the afternoon scoring a couple of runs in the third inning off Charleston freshman starter, Austin Henrich, to take a 2-0 into the 4
th inning. Glenville added a run in the top half of the fourth only to see their 3-0 lead vanish as Charleston brought home three runs of their own in bottom of the inning. A RBI double by Lee Carneal got Charleston on the scoreboard, then UC catcher Steven Davis tied the game at 3-3 with a 2-RBI single to get the Golden Eagles right back into the game.
The Pioneers wouldn't go away quietly, reclaiming the lead after plating single runs in both the 6

th, setting the stage for Charleston's late rally.
Austin Hathaway started the surge with a single through the left side, followed by Colby Johnson's 3
rd triple of the season to trim the deficit to 5-4. Morello tied the game at 5-5 on a sacrifice fly to center. Carneal would single and move to second on a Davis walk, allowing Justin Mixon the opportunity to drive home what would be the game-winning run on a RBI single. Lucas added an insurance on a sacrifice fly to deep center to give UC a 7-5 lead after 8 innings played. Robert Fultineer was masterful in relief, working 2 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball to earn the win, his first of his young career.
