CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles split Saturday's doubleheader with Glenville State to take three of four games from the Pioneers and take sole possession of third place in the MEC South Division.

Game 3
Charleston got on the board early against GSC's Zach Sanford, scoring a pair of runs in the 1
st inning on a Lee Carneal RBI single and a misplay in the Pioneer outfield allowed Colby Johnson to score from first on a Gianfranco Morello single. UC continued to build on their lead, scoring a run in the 3
rd and two in the 4
th. Hathaway started the third with a leadoff triple and was brought home by Johnson's sacrifice fly to right. Charleston took advantage of Pioneer errors and walks to score their runs in the 4
th with RBI's by Ethan Hunt and Austin Hathaway.
UC starter, Adam Jafine, carried a shutout into the 6
th inning before Glenville plated a couple of runs. Jafine continued to grind and got the complete-game victory allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out five Pioneers.
Game 4
The Golden Eagles played a very sloppy game in the series finale, committing six errors which led to eight unearned Glenville runs. Charleston starter Anthony Zona took the loss, allowing seven runs (all unearned) on eight hits in four innings of work. Despite the loss, UC catcher Steven Davis had a game he will always remember as he connected on two HR's in the 10-4 defeat.
