Game 1
University of Charleston got a gem of a performance from their starter, Kaleb Kinder, a junior left hander from Charleston.  The lefty earned the complete-game win for the Golden Eagles, working all seven innings and allowing just one Mountain Lion run on six hits.  It was his third win of the season and second career complete game.

Concord scored first, a RBI double by the Mountain Lions best hitter Chad Frazier, to put the visitors up 1-0 after three innings.  UC answered back in the 5th on their own RBI double by Ethan Hunt that brought in Taylor Itnyre to tie the game at 1-1.  Still knotted up in the sixth, Charleston's Lee Carneal belted a drive over the left field fence to put UC ahead 2-1 entering the final frame.  Kinder worked a perfect 7th, sitting the Mountain Lions down in order for the victory.

Game 2
UC kept their momentum going from the end of game one, scoring a pair of runs in opening frame of game two on an error by Concord's Trevor Weirsma at first base.  The Golden Eagles extended their lead with single runs in the 4th and 5th innings to carry a 4-0 lead to the 6th inning, one of those runs came from a HR by Charleston catcher Steven Davis.

Austin Henrich, the starter of game two for UC, is now a perfect 7-0 on the season after going 5 1/3 innings without allowing a run.  He gave way to Robert Fultineer in the 6th inning allowing the freshman reliever to pick up his sixth save on the season.  Concord crept back in the game with runs in the 7th and 8th innings, trimming the UC lead to 4-2 going to the bottom of the 8th.  The Golden Eagles got some insurance runs on a bases clearing double down the left field line by Ethan Hunt that scored three runs and gave UC a 7-2 cushion entering the 9th inning.  Fultineer gave up a lead-off walk but responded by sitting down the next three in order, giving Charleston the doubleheader sweep to open the 4-game series with Concord.
