CHARLESTON, WV.—Charleston Women's Lacrosse team (3-10, 0-3 MEC) fell 16-8 to the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University (3-9, 2-1 MEC) on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Ally Coggins got the Cardinals on the board first with a goal at 27:33. Just over two minutes later Paige Plesich scored the second goal of the day for the Cardinals. One minute after, Ayranna Jones got the Golden Eagles on the board to bring the score to 2-1.
-Elizabeth Hales put away back-to-back goals before Abby McGowan put one past the Cardinal keeper (4-2). Sarah Artzer scored the Cardinals fifth goal with just over 16 minutes left in the half.
-Peyton Harris brought the score to 5-3 when she scored at 14:15. After nearly 10 scoreless minutes from both sides, UC Senior, Nicole Purcell scored for the Golden Eagles, cutting the Wheeling lead to just one goal. The Cardinals scored two un answered goals before time expired in the first half.
-Coming out of the break, Wheeling Jesuit scored 7 unanswered goals before Esther Yi scored on a free position shot for the Golden Eagles. Emma Renda brought the score to 14-6 just two minutes later.
-The Cardinals scored two final goals in the half before Megan Sheesly and Shawna Kleinfelter found the net for the Golden Eagles.
-Time expired with the Cardinals topping the Golden Eagles 16-8.
CHARLESTON LEADERS
-Leading scorer Aryanna Jones tabbed her 34
th goal of the season, while senior, Nicole Purcell tabbed a goal in her final game at Schoenbaum Stadium.
CARDINAL LEADERS
-Kori Hickman, Mary Burns, and Ally Coggins led Wheeling Jesuit with 3 goals each while Taylor Booth and Elizabeth Hales each tabbed 2.
