Lacrosse Tops Notre Dame in Season Finale

Box Score CHARLESTON, WV.—Charleston Women's Lacrosse team (4-10, 1-3 MEC) topped the Falcons of Notre Dame College (OH)  (2-10, 0-5 MEC) in their final game of the season on the road.

SCORE -  Charleston 18; Falcons 9
LOCATION – South Euclid. OH
RECORDS - Charleston (4-11, 1-4 MEC); NDC (2-10, 0-5 MEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons struck first when Darbie Barkman scored just 14 seconds into competition, but a mere 30 seconds later the Golden Eagles answered with a goal by Emma Renda. Less than a minute later the Golden Eagles took the lead when Renda put another goal past the Falcon keeper.
-Aryanna Jones increased the UC lead by two goals with a goal at 22:10. Notre Dame scored 3 unanswered goals to take back the lead with just over 19 minutes to go in the half.
-Charleston struck back with three unanswered goals for the 6-4 lead. At 11:42 Ashlee Boyko cut the Golden Eagle lead to one goal after she put a ball past the UC goalie (6-5).
-Megan Sheesley scored back-to-back goals before Payton Harris put away her second goal of the game with just over 5 minutes to go in the first half (9-5). Boyko scored for the Falcons with 2:55 to go in the first half, before Sheesley put away her third goal of the game.
-The Falcons finished the first half with a goal with 10 seconds left to go into the break down 10-7 against the Golden Eagles.
-Coming out of the break Charleston scored 8 unanswered goals to build the 18-7 advantage. Barkman and Caitlin Howard scored for Notre Dame to close out the second half.
-The Golden Eagles recorded their fourth win of the season with the 18-9 victory over Notre Dame.

CHARLESTON LEADERS
-Megan Sheesley led the Golden Eagles with 5 goals, followed by Emma Renda who notched 4 in the win.

CARDINAL LEADERS
-Darby Barkman led the Falcons with 5 goals in the loss to UC.
