CHARLESTON, WV.—Charleston Women's Lacrosse team (3-8, 0-1 MEC) fell in double overtime to UVA-Wise (8-3, 1-0 MEC) on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Emma Renda put UC on the board first with a goal at 25:26, but the Cavaliers put one past UC just a few possessions later. Both teams scored again before the clock hit 20:00 to keep the score tied 2-2.
-Emily Henneberry gave Wise the 3-2 lead with just over 15 mintues to go in the first half, but Renda tied it all up just over a minute later.
-Charleston scored two more unanswered goals to take the 5-3 lead before Jesse French took advantage of a UC penalty to get the goal. Megan Sheesley gave UC their sixth goal at 3:27.
-French sent another goal past the UC keeping with 1:53 to go in the first half, sending both teams into the break with UC up 6-5.
-Five minutes into the second half UC was given their second 2-minute penalty and the Cavaliers tied it up with a goal by Hannah Marshall (6-6). Two more unanswered goals by the Golden Eagles gamve them the 8-6 lead until the Cavaliers hit two unanswered goals to tied the game up at 13:47.
-Rachel Kerwin ad Artanna Jones scored the next two goals for Charleston giving them the 10-8 advantage with time running down. As the clock struck 2:45, Ashley wells scored for the Cavaliers cutting the UC advantage to just one goal.
-With Just over a minute left in regulation Hannah Marshall tied the game up forcing the two teams to an overtime sudden death period.
-The first overtime period was scoreless for both teams, sending the two teams into another 3-minute showdown. 15 seconds into the second overtime period Hannah Marshall scored her second half of the game to send the Cavaliers over the Golden Eagles.
CHARLESTON LEADERS
-Shawna Kleinfelter and Emma Renda led Charleston with 3 goals a piece, while Megan Sheesly put two goals away.
UVA-WISE LEADERS
-Jesse French led the Cavaliers with 3 goals.
UP NEXT
-Charleston will travel to Shepherdstown WV, for a Sunday matchup against Shepherd University at 1:00 p.m.
