TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Charleston Softball team received their bid for the 2017 NCAA Dll Tournament, announced by the NCAA on Monday morning.
 
The Golden Eagles will compete in the Atlantic 2 Regional, a 3 day, 4 team double elimination tournament to be hosted by the #1 seeded West Virginia Wesleyan College Bobcats. The tournament will be in Buckhannon, W.Va from Thursday, May 11 through Saturday, May 13.
 
Charleston (35-19), the #7 seed will face the #2 Bobcats (44-7) on Thursday, May 11 at 2:30 p.m. West Virginia Wesleyan took home the Championship at the Mountain East Conference Tournament last weekend.
 
The regional will also feature #3 Kutztown and #6 Bloomsburg on the other half of the bracket. The MEC will see three other institutions participating in the NCAA tournament including, Atlantic 2 host, West Virginia Wesleyan, Shepherd University, and Atlantic 1 host UVA-Wise.
 
This will be Charleston's third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, they are coming off a 2016 regional championship and World Series berth.
