FINAL RESULTS
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – University of Charleston men's golf finished as runner-up at the Queens Invitational Tuesday afternoon at The Club at Irish Creek.
The three-round event hosted by Queens University of Charlotte saw the Golden Eagles finish ahead of two top-25 teams in #14 Lincoln Memorial and #25 Belmont Abbey. UC ended the tournament eight strokes back of Coker College at +8 through three rounds. The Golden Eagles climbed the leaderboard each round, starting out in 7
th after the first 18 holes, jumping to 3
rd through 36 holes before eventually finishing in second overall. Charleston posted rounds of 289, 283, and 288 at The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C.
Justin Westveer (Charlotte, N.C.) had the lowest total (212) for the Golden Eagles, finishing tied for sixth individually while
Lewis Fenn (Dunbar, Scotland) also posted a top-10 finish at 9
th place after scoring 213 for his three rounds. Freshman Mason Weese was just outside the top-10 with a 13
th place finish, scoring 215 for the tournament.
University of Charleston doesn't get back on the course until October at the MEC Fall Classic. The Classic will take place at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, W.Va. from October 1 - 3.
