CHARLESTON, WV – A last second field goal lifted the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons (3-1, 3-0 MEC) to a 19-16 victory over the University of Charleston Golden Eagles (1-3, 1-3 MEC) on Thursday night.

-Mason Olszewski led the Golden Eagles with 86 yards passing and 22 yards on the ground.
-Redshirt sophomore Kane Roush led the Golden Eagles with 29 yards receiving, 66 yards rushing, and one touchdown. The running back's 44 yard TD was the longest by a UC player this season.

-Jalen Nelson led the charge for the Golden Eagles with 10 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a touchdown.
-Luke Sears followed with nine tackles and three tackles for loss. The senior tallied is 100th career tackle early in the first quarter.
FSU Game Leaders: Offense
-Young-Battle led the Falcons in the air with 279 yards passing.
FSU Game Leaders: Defense
-Naiquan Thomas led Fairmont State with 11 tackles.
-Marcus Porter also tallied 11 tackles as well has two tackles for loss totaling six yards.
How it Happened
-After a scoreless first quarter Dylan Miles put UC on the board with a 20 yard field goal less than a minute into the second.
-Three minutes later Kane Roush found a hole and took the ball 44 yards for a UC touchdown giving them the 10-0 lead. Charleston held the 10-0 advantage into the break.
-Almost halfway though the third FSU got on the board with a 23 yard field goal by Sam Keil. Charleston answered just two minutes later with a 41 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by junior linebacker, Jalen Nelson.
-Two minutes into the fourth quarter Laurence King caught an 8-yard pass from J. Young-Battle to bring the Falcons within seven points (16-9)
-With five minutes to go in regulation, Stephen Turner picks off the UC pass and took it 36 yards to the end zone. Keils kick ties the game up for Fairmont State.
-With 1.9 seconds on the clock Sam Keil hits a 32-yard field goal to give Fairmont State the 19-16 victory.
