DAVIS, W.Va. -- Ritwik Jain turned in the lowest score in Golden Eagle men's golf history, shooting a second-round 63 to earn medalist honors and lead UC to the Wally Edgell WV DII Championship title at Canaan Valley Resort.
Jain followed up his opening round 69 with Tuesday's 8-under round of 63, breaking the previous low-round record of 65 held by Michael Todd and Ben Beswick. Jain would shoot 10-under for the two-day event at Canaan Valley on his way to UC Golf history. The Golden Eagles ran away from the field, turning in consecutive scores of 275 en route to a 19-stroke tournament victory. UC placed 5 players in the top-3 with Jain winning the event, senior Justin Westveer finishing as runner-up at 4-under, followed by three Golden Eagles tied for third as Brett Harvey, Lewis Fenn and David Scragg all turning in scores of 2-under. Â
University of Charleston gets back on the course next weekend at the MEC Fall Classic. The Classic will take place at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, W.Va. from October 1 - 3.
