CHARLESTON, WV. – The Golden Eagles (9-7, 5-5 MEC) defeated the Glenville State Pioneers (2-13, 1-9 MEC) 85-79 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
-The Golden Eagles took an early lead led by freshmen, Seth O'Neal and Riley Heatherington who scored the first 8 of UC's 10 points. With just over nine minutes left to play the Golden Eagles maintained a 25-20 lead. A three pointer with six minutes to play would tie the game up 28-28, but Shaq Speights would give the Golden Eagles a three-point lead with a shot behind the arc just 30 seconds later.
-The Golden Eagles held on to the lead to head into the locker room with UC leading the Pioneers 41-39.
-The Golden Eagles kept the lead until a set of back-to-back buckets tied the game up at 47-47. Midway through the second half the Golden Eagles held a 57-54 lead. The score remained close for the remainder of the second half, with 3:16 to play in regulation the Golden Eagles led the Pioneers 72-67.
-The Golden Eagles would go on to win 85-79 to improve to 9-7 on the season.
Charleston Individual Leaders
-Keir Anderson led the Golden Eagles with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
-Freshmen, Lamont McManus and Seth O'Neal each had notable performances with McManus tallying 19 and O'Neal earning 13 points in the Golden Eagles' victory.
Glenville State Individual Leaders
-Jon Dunmyer led the Pioneers with 18 points.
