NASHVILLE – Golden Eagle men's volleyball improved to 2-0 on the season after sweeping Erskine College in three sets in their second and final match of the Grow the Game Challenge organized by Off the Block Volleyball at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
SET 1
In a tightly played opening set where neither team had a lead larger than three points and saw the game tied 13 times before UC inched ahead late in the game when tied at 21-21. Charleston got kills from Eugene Stuart and Ryan Santos to go along with a pair of Fleet errors to close the set 25-23 and take a 1-0 lead.
SET 2
UC trailed by five, 15-10, midway through the second before rallying back to win the set 30-28. Charleston trailed 27-28 with Erskine serving to tie the match at 1-1 before the resilient Golden Eagles game's final three points, a kill by Brandon Greenway, an ace by Ryan Santos followed by a Fleet attack error to put Charleston ahead 2-0 going to the third.
SET 3
Charleston again found themselves down, this time later in the match by six at 19-13. The Golden Eagles fought back ferociously, scoring eight of the set's next 10 points to even the game at 21-21. Riding that momentum, UC went on to outscore the Fleet 4-1 and hang a straight set loss to Erskine while improving to 2-0 on the young 2018 season.
