CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles cruised to victory on Saturday evening, defeating the Pioneers from Glenville State College 3-0 (27-25, 25-11, 25-19).

  How It Happened
The Golden Eagles took control of the game early, defeating the Pioneers in a close first set. Charleston's Carly Granger totaled six kills, helping to push UC to the 27-25 victory on the set.
 
The second set of play was a similar story, as Charleston outplayed the Pioneers, to beat them in the second set 25-11. UC's Jessica Sunnenburg helped the Golden Eagles with three kills and a block, giving Charleston the edge on the set.
 
Charleston finished the match in the third set, only allowing the Pioneers to gain 19 points. With a pair of blocks by Jessica Sunnenburg and Catherine Morris, and kills from Janeese Vervelde, UC won the set, giving them the 3-0 win on the day.
