CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Charleston Women's Volleyball team defeated the Shepherd Rams on Friday night 3-1, advancing themselves to the Mountain East Final on Saturday, at Wheeling Jesuit University.

How It Happened
The Golden Eagles trailed 1-0 after the first set, as the Rams from Shepherd took the set 25-18. UC's sophomore standout Jessica Sunnenburg led Charleston in the first set, with two service aces and three kills.
The second set of play was a different story for the Golden Eagles, as they defeated the Rams 25-23, tying the match at 1-1. UC's senior outside hitter Tori Clark stepped up for the Golden Eagles with five kills, while junior Jour'Ney Powell had two block assists and two kills to push Charleston to win the set.
Charleston continued their momentum in the third set of the match, outplaying Shepherd to win 25-14, giving themselves a 2-1 edge. Charleston's Tori Clark, Jour'Ney Powell, and Carly Granger each gave UC four kills, pushing the game into a fourth set.
The fourth set was the final set of the match, as UC overtook the Rams 25-21, winning the match 3-1, and advancing to the MEC Tournament Final. Charleston's Tori Clark started the scoring for UC, helping to lift them past Shepherd, and advance to the MEC Final.

The Golden Eagles will be up against the winner of Wheeling Jesuit University and West Liberty University, and will play on Saturday, November 10
th, at Wheeling Jesuit University.
