CHARLESTON, W.Va.—The University of Charleston Golden Eagles chalked up a much-needed win to propel their record upwards with a 12-10 win over Alderson Broaddus University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The University of Charleston opened up the day with the first game of the day by Aryanna Jones, beginning a game that ultimately ended in a win for UC. With 17:03 left in the half, the Golden Eagles jumped to a 4-2 win when the Battlers' Krista Cooper scored two goals to tie the game up. The Golden Eagles answered back however, going into the break with a 7-5 lead.
Heading into the second half, Charleston came ready and energized, scoring four goals in 19 minutes, leading 11-7. With 2:28 left to play, UC's Aryanna Jones scored a goal to insure the win for Charleston, ending the game 12-10.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
Peyton Harris and Samantha Youngman led the Golden Eagles with three goals each.
Aryanna Jones, Emma Renda and Abby McGowan led UC in assists with one each.
Kyra Tye had nine saves for Charleston.
ABU INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
Brooke Thomas had four goals for the Battlers.
