HILTON HEAD, S.
C. – Charleston's men's tennis team was not fit to outlast the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears, as they fell 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Starting with singles matches, UC began with a rough start losing the No. 1 singles match. The Golden Eagle's bounced back quickly with No. 2 and 3 singles spots Joao Tayar and Alek Gracin both winning their matches 6-2, 2-6, 10-5, and 6-3, 6-3. These two wins were not enough to push Charleston to come out on top in singles play, and their two doubles wins couldn't either.
Heading into doubles play, UC's tandem of Alek Gracin and Jason Prince had the solo doubles win for the Golden Eagles on the day, beating their opponents 8-6. This No. 2 doubles victory was the only win for UC in doubles.
Charleston faces Michigan Technological University in their third match of spring break play in Hilton Head Island, S.C. on March 15
