CHARLESTON, W.Va.—The Golden Eagles brought the heat on Thursday night, defeating the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors 21-4 in a much-needed win on the road, propelling UC to a 4-3 record before conference play starts on April 13
th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The scoring frenzy for Charleston started early, as Brianna Rock had a successful shot at the 22:34 mark, to put the Golden Eagles on the scoreboard, leading 1-0. This goal opened up a series of goals for UC, scoring 14 goals before the half was over. They allowed just four goals from Southern Wesleyan in the first, and shutdown any scoring opportunities the Warriors had in the second.
Heading into the second half, it was only five minutes before Aryanna Jones, assisted by Emma Renda, starting the scoring streak for UC. Less than a minute later, Abby McGowan headed to the goal for an unassisted goal for Charleston, putting them up 16-4 with 24:58 left to play. The Golden Eagles followed this goal by five more before the end of the game, defeating the Warriors by an impressive 17 goals, with a final score of 21-4.

Aryanna Jones and Emma Renda led the Golden Eagles with four goals each
Aryanna Jones led Charleston with four total assists.
Abby McGowan led UC in draw controls with 8.
Kyra Tye had four saves for the Golden Eagles.

Abigail Welch had three goals for Southern Wesleyan.
