CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles chalked up another win on the season, defeating the University of Virginia College at Wise 9-0 in their home match on March 18
th.
Charleston started the day off strong and did not let up against the Cavaliers as they sailed to a victory on Sunday morning. Starting UC off was No. 1 doubles duo Ben Lakemen and Joao Tayar who won their math 8-5, setting a tone for the rest of the day. The Golden Eagles won the rest of the doubles matches and carried the wins into singles play. Ben Lakemen sat at No. 1 singles defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-1, with the rest of UC to follow. UC stole the show in singles play, winning all six spots with seemingly unclose matches.
Up next for the Golden Eagles is a home match against Virginia State University on March 25 at 2:00 p.m.
