CHARLESTON, W.Va.—The Golden Eagles had their second MEC loss this season, falling to UVA Wise on Sunday afternoon 19-7, moving their conference record to 1-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The conference 3-0 UVA Wise Cavaliers began the scoring for the game, putting two past UC goalie Kyra Tye in the first three minutes of the game. UC's Emma Renda answered back, scoring with 26:53 left to play in the first half, putting Charleston on the board. Wise continued to score eight more goals before the Golden Eagle's Esther Yi had a successful shot on goal. Charleston went into the half down 13-3 against the Cavaliers.
Wise began the second had with another quick goal, making the score 14-3 with 29:31 left to play in the game. Brianna Rock had a goal for UC to put the Golden Eagles behind by 10. The game continued to go back and forth between the two teams, with UC's Emma Renda scoring four total goals. UC couldn't catch enough momentum to defeat Wise, falling 19-7.

- Emma Renda led the Golden Eagles with four goals.

- Kristin Gobbi scored seven goals to lead Slippery Rock in scoring.
