HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles pounced on the Rams, holding a 5-1 lead just twelve minutes into Friday's contest in Ram Stadium led by a pair of goals by Brianna Rock. With just under four minutes remaining in the opening half Charleston jumped out to the biggest lead of the afternoon after Aryanna Jones scored her team-leading 45

Shepherd had other plans, scoring the first three goals of the second half to make it a 7-6 game with over 26 minutes left in the game. The teams basically traded goals until the Rams were able to string together four consecutive scores between the 17 minute and 8 minute mark to take an 11-9 lead over Charleston. The Golden Eagles fought back and evened the game at 11-11 following consecutive goals by sophomore midfielder Emma Renda. The Oswego, N.Y. native had a chance to put Charleston back on top with 1:15 remaining in the match but Shepherd's Casey Hickman made a save on the free position shot. The Rams regained possession, bleeding the clock down to :26 before Lillian Funke scored the game-winner and send the Golden Eagles back to Charleston with a 12-11 loss.
