Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles tallied their sixth straight Mountain East Conference split against the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats.

How it Happened
GAME 1:
After a single to left field the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first followed by a pair of runs scored on an error by the Golden Eagles' third baseman. The Bobcats increased their lead to four runs with a singled by Brittany Bible to sent Gutierrez home in the top of the first.
Lauryn King homered in the top of the fifth for the 5-0 lead followed by three additional runs scored in the top of the seventh to take the 8-0 lead. The Golden Eagles were unable to get the bats going in the bottom of the seventh inning giving the 8-0 victory to WVWC.
GAME 2:
Krista Waggoner hit a double to right field in the top of the first to send King home for the 1-0 lead, but the Golden Eagles answered with a double by Haliegh Christopher to send Emily Dutton home.
With the score tied 1-1 Lauryn King hit her second homer of the game to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. Christopher stepped in in the bottom of third and hit a two-run homer to take the 3-2 lead and would never trail again in the game. The Golden Eagles went on a 5-0 run in the fourth inning to gain the 8-2 lead heading into the top of the fifth. In the fifth inning the Bobcats cut the Golden Eagle's lead in half, but were unable to tie it up in the top of the seventh.
Charleston took their sixth consecutive split in MEC play downing the Bobcats 8-4 in game two.
Noteables
-Haleigh Christopher recorded her one hundredth career hit, and ninth homer of the 2018 season.
-Carlee Lucas tallied her eleventh win while senior first basemen Danielle Norton tallied her eleventh multi-hit game.
