ERIE, Pa. – The men's tennis team fell 5-1 to the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Wesleyan, the number 3 seed, jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles taking both first and third doubles. The Charleston tandem of Alek Gracin and Tom Andrews won second doubles by a score of 9-7.
Wesleyan extended its lead to 4-1 with wins at second and sixth singles. Ben Lakeman at first singles and Alek Gracin at fourth singles both took their first match. Tom Andrews at third singles came up short which gave Wesleyan the fifth and deciding point and 5-1 victory. Jason Prince, Lakeman, and Gracin had their matches go into the books as unfinished.
