Box Score READING, Pa. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles took their first NCAA Tournament victory over Millersville University. Behind Johnathan Carr's complete game win the Golden Eagles banged out three runs in the top of the ninth inning to seal their spot in the winners' bracket for tomorrow's games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With the win, the Golden Eagles (35-21) sit in the winners' bracket for tomorrow's portion of the tournament. It is the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history. The Millersville Marauders (35-18) will face the Shepherd Rams to stay in the tournament.
After eight scoreless innings from both sides the Golden Eagles pounded out three runs on four hits to take the victory in the top of the ninth. Despite six hits from the Marauders the Golden Eagles turned four double plays to clear the bases.
Sophomore lefty Jonathan Carr (9-3) notched a complete game shutout and ninth win of the season. Christian Wingard took the loss for the Marauders after giving up the first two runs in the top of the ninth.
Gianfranco Morello went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored for the Golden Eagles. Morello's triple to right center sent Colby Johnson home for the game winner. Steven Davis tallied a ninth inning RBI for UC's second run of the came with a single down the right side.
UC sealed their victory with a bunt by Austin Hathaway that sent Steven Davis home for the 3-0 advantage.
Morello broke his own record today with his 34
th stolen base of the season keeping him atop the record books for stolen bases in a season.
