MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Charleston Golf battled through a tough final day at The Shoals to post a third round 311 to finish 18^thoverall at the end of stroke play for the NCAA DII Men's Golf National Championships.  
 
UC's Justin Westveer entered the day in the top-10 individually and remained there until a tough three-hole stretch took him from even on the round to 7-over.  The senior regrouped to close out round with three consecutive pars and post Charleston's best individual finish of the championship at tied for 36^thin the 108-player field.  Fellow senior  Lewis Fenn posted the afternoon's best round for the Golden Eagles, shooting a 4-over 76 for the second straight day after fighting through a tough opening round on Monday. The seniors close out their career advancing to three NCAA DII Championships in four seasons. 
 
Junior Eoin Cunniffe scored the second best three-day total for Charleston (228, +12) in his first NCAA National Championship appearance for the Golden Eagles.  Ritwik Jain closed out the scoring for UC with his three-day total of 231 to finish the championship at 15-over.  Freshman Mason Weese was able to make some strides on Wednesday to turn in his best round of the championship with a score of 82.
 
Florida Southern finished at the top of the team leaderboard at 24-under after turning in an impressive 12-under performance in the third round. Barry (-18), Lynn (-16), West Florida (-12) Indianapolis (-6), Arkansas Tech (-6), Saint Leo (-5) and Lincolin Memorial (+5) all advanced as well, as the top eight teams made the cut.
Florida Southern's John VanDerLaan took home the individual championship with a 17-under total score, including a -7 performance on Wednesday to pace the Mocs' surge into first place.

Day 4 action continues in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Thursday morning. The team champion will be crowned on Friday.
