CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles downed Concord on Tuesday night 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25-16), giving UC their first Mountain East Conference win of the season.

How It Happened
Charleston won their first MEC match of the year on Tuesday night, taking the Mountain Lions from Concord to four sets, winning 3-1. UC had 15 kills in the first set, compared to 11 from Concord, however Charleston's eight errors in set 1 allowed Concord the 25-23 win.
 
Heading into the second set, Charleston's senior duo Carly Granger and Chloe Massaro started the scoring for the Golden Eagles, as Massaro set Granger for a kill. UC kept this momentum going in the second set, defeating Concord 25-13.
 
The third set was a similar story for UC, defeating the Mountain Lions 25-23, with 17 kills compared to 12 from Concord. The Golden Eagles finished the match strong, overtaking Concord 25-16 in the final set of the game.
