UC Wins Third Straight Match

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles defeated UVA Wise on Saturday night 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-18), giving UC their third consecutive win in a row.

How It Happened
The Golden Eagles took control of the match from the beginning, flying through the first set 25-18. UC's Jour'Ney Powell had the first kill of the day, giving Charleston the momentum to take the first set. Jessica Sunnenburg led UC in kills the first set with four, while Chloe Massaro gave the Golden Eagles six assists in the first set.

The second set of play was closer between the two MEC schools, however, UC came out on top winning 25-22. Jour'Ney Powell led UC again with the first kill for Charleston in the second set, but it was senior Carly Granger who led with four kills this set.
 
The Golden Eagles were close to victory heading into the third set, only 25 points away from victory. UVA Wise started strong, going up by three points to start the set. However, Jour'Ney Powell struck back with three kills in a row, tying the set up at three points all. UC continued to propel forward, ultimately winning the set 25-18, and the game 3-0.
