CHARLESTON, W.VA. –Charleston defeated the Wesleyan Bobcats on Thursday night 76-67, adding a win to their 2018-2019 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Golden Eagles took control of the first half from the start, as they didn't allow the visiting Bobcats to take the lead at any point in the half. Charleston dominated the first 20 minutes of play, as they went 11-23 from the field goal line, compared to Wesleyan's 11-23. UC totaled 23 rebounds, whereas the Bobcats totaled 6. Junior transfer Drew Rackley led the Golden Eagles with 11 points, while fellow junior transfer Devon Robinson wasn't far behind with nine. UC led Wesleyan heading into the half 32-26, allowing themselves a small gap between the visiting Bobcats.
 
Beginning the second half of play, the Bobcats used their half-time energy to put up two shots in a row, gaining a two point lead over Charleston. The game continued to remain close between the two sides, until a dunk from Robinson set a high energy tone for the Golden Eagles with 3:58 left to play. UC continued to pressure Wesleyan until they led 71-63 with less than a minute to play in the game. Charleston held their lead until the end, winning the game 76-67. The Golden Eagles outscored the Bobcats 44-41 in the second half, and led in the rebound category with 13, compared to Wesleyan's 11.
