CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Golden Eagles will be hosting their last set of home games for the 2019 season. They will take on Davis & Elkins College on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3:00 p.m. against West Virginia Wesleyan College for senior day.
D&E has a 17-8 record this season with a 10-4 record in the MEC. They currently sit in the four spot in MEC rankings. In the match against UC earlier this year, they took the match 3-0 over the Golden Eagles.
As for Wesleyan, they have a 5-21 record overall this season with a 2-11 record in the MEC. They are out of the playoff picture for this season, but will look to end their season on a high note. UC played them back in September this year on the road in Buckhannon and lost the match three sets to none. UC will look to flip the script this time around.
UC currently holds on to the eighth seed in the MEC tournament. They have put together a 10-20 season and have a 5-9 record in conference play. They will look to end the regular season on a high note and take some momentum into the tournament where they will likely be the eighth seed and would match up with Wheeling in the first round.
Heading into senior day, UC women's volleyball will be recognizing all five seniors before the start of the 3:00 p.m. match on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will Recognize seniors
Sydney Burt,
Kelsey Matusic,
Shelby Kahler,
Jour'Ney Powell and
Janeese VerVelde.
These ladies will look to lead their team to two victories on the weekend and take their team as far as they can in the MEC tournament.
