WHEELING, W. Va. – The Golden Eagles will travel to Wheeling University tomorrow evening to take on the Cardinals in a 7:00 p.m. match.
Wheeling currently sits at the top of the MEC. They have an overall record of 23-3 and are 11-0 in conference play. Looking at the stats for the season, Wheeling leads the MEC in hitting percentage (.271), assists per set (13.79), kills per set (14.55), blocks per set (2.47) and digs per set (19.36). Wheeling's most recent loss came back on September 14, where they lost to St. Cloud State in 3 sets and went on to win their next 18 matches.
Charleston has an 8-18 overall record and are currently 3-7 in conference play. They have dropped their previous four matches. The Golden Eagles have played the Cardinals 11 times in the past, Charleston has not beaten Wheeling in any of those matches. Charleston currently sits in 9
th place in the MEC. With the end of the season quickly approaching, UC looks to get back on track and earn themselves a spot in the MEC tournament.
Charleston still has six more games left in the season. They are currently behind Concord who sits at 4-7 in the MEC. Following this match, UC will have a date with the Mountain Lions on Friday, Nov. 8 at Concord. This will end up being a big game and will have big MEC Tournament implications.
