Men's Basketball Defeats Bobcats 77-66 in Overtime

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles took a 77-66 victory from the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats after fighting through an overtime period for the fifth time this season.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles gained the lead to start off, and saw no lead change, but the Bobcats kept the game close, never letting the Golden Eagles lead by more than nine points. Devon Robinon lead Charleston's first half effort with 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists as the Golden Eagles shot 45 percent from the field. Charleston went into half time leading Wesleyan 31-23.
 
After the intermission, Charleston maintained their lead, but just four minutes into the second half Lee Daylin tied the game up at 34-all. Charleston took back their lead and did not lose it, but the Bobcats were nipping at their heels, keeping the score within three points or less through the middle of the half. Wesleyan took their first lead of the game with nine minutes to go after a three-pointer from Marcus Larson, bringing the score to 50-51. After four lead changes Charleston tied the game up with a three-pointer by Drew Rackley with 2:33 to go in regulation.
 
Down 59-61 with 21 seconds to go, Adam Traore hit a jumper to tie the game up. Traore was fouled on the play, but missed his free-throw to seal the game. Luke Petrovic missed his last second three-pointer forcing an overtime period.
 
Charleston burst out on a 10-0 run to start the overtime period, and the Bobcats were unable to crack the lead, falling to Charleston 77-66.
