How It Happened
MATCH 1
Charleston tried to keep up with the pace of the Tigers from Princeton in the first set of play, but were unable to surpass them. The set stayed close between the two sides, until UC's 10
thpoint, when the hosts used a pair of kills to put have a comfortable lead. The Golden Eagles fell 20-25, putting the match at 1-0 Princeton.
The second set was similar to the first, as the Tigers slowly pulled away from UC after the 10
thpoint. Despite four kills each from Brandon Greenway and Maarten Bartels, the Golden Eagles were unable to win the set, falling 20-25, and going down 2-0. Set three ended the match, as Charleston was unable to gain enough momentum to win a set, falling 16-25 and 3-0 on the day.
MATCH 2
The Golden Eagles took on Princeton again on Saturday, falling 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22). The first set of play was all Princeton, as they were unable to pass them, falling 28-18. The second set was a repeat of the first, as the Tigers pushed past Charleston, winning the set 25-19.
The third set was a change of pace, as the Golden Eagles found the energy to take the set 25-20, putting the game at 1-1. However, Charleston wasn't able to keep up their pace, falling in the last set 25-22, and 3-1 on the day,
