HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles trailed behind Walsh in the first seven minutes of the game, as the hosts snuck two past UC to lead 2-0. Charleston's Brianna Rock answered back, putting the score at 2-1 with 22:16 left to play until the half. The Golden Eagles continued to trail behind the Cavaliers, however, Samantha Youngman was able to give Charleston a goal, allowing them to trail 3-2 with 20:24 left to play. UC's offensive worked to try and top Walsh, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The Golden Eagles trailed 8-2 heading into the half.
The last 30 minutes of the game were a similar story, as UC worked as a unit to try and beat the Cavaliers. Charleston's A goal from Aryanna Jones, and then two back to back goals from Emma Renda gave UC some momentum, making the gap between the two sides smaller. Two more goals from Brianna Rock and Esther Yi were not enough for Charleston to take the game, allowing them to fall to Walsh 12-7.
