CHARLESTON, W.VA. –Charleston could not work past UVA Wise on Sunday afternoon, falling 22-8 to the Cavaliers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior Emma Renda gave UC their first goal of the day just 16 seconds into the game, but Wise responded with five unanswered goals during a five minute span. The Cavaliers would score nine more goals in the half, while UC saw four more goals from Renda, Samantha Youngman, Aryanna Jones, and Rachel Kerwin. The Golden Eagles trailed behind the Cavaliers 14-5 heading into the half.
 
The second half was a similar story for Charleston, as they scored three goals compared to Wise's eight. Youngman gave UC momentum at the start of the second half, as she snuck one past Wise's goalie to put the score at 17-6. Charleston was not able to take on the Cavaliers offensively, falling in the match 22-8.
