CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles (11-10, 6-2 MEC) split with the Fairmont State Falcons (13-9, 4-4 MEC). In game one the Golden Eagles fell in a come from behind victory from the Falcons that was decided in the seventh inning. Charleston answered with a 10-0 victory in game two, behind Jack Brunetti's complete game shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Jacob Kaiser took the loss in game one, after pitching 6.2 innings.
The Falcons took an early one-run lead in the top of the third, followed by adding their second run on a balk by the UC pitcher.
The Golden Eagles got on the board as Gianfranco Morello crossed the plate on a SAC fly from Hayden Cartt. Kyle Keenan homered in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game up 2-2.
The Golden Eagles took the 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth on a double by Cartt that sent Jack Brunetti home.
The Falcons answered with three runs in the top of the seventh to take the 5-3 victory from the Golden Eagles.
GAME 2:
The Golden Eagles opened up game two with a home run to right field by Austin Hathaway in the bottom of the first. Charleston tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the first before Fairmont State got out of the inning.
Nick Wilson tallied his second of four RBIs on the day with a double to left field in the bottom of the third sending Brunetti home, later in the bottom of the fifth Wilson nailed a two-run homer to left field to give UC the 9-0 lead.
Jack Brunetti singled to left field in the sixth sending Colby Johnson home.
Brunetti finished the game with a complete game shutout, retiring 21 batters. The senior moved to 2-1 on the season.

The Golden Eagles will be back at home on Tuesday, facing the Alderson Broaddus Battlers at Appalachian Power Park at 5:00 p.m.
